Waymo is self-driving technology company owned by Alphabet. Since 2009, their mission has been to make it safe and easy for people and things to get where they’re going. The Waymo Driver can improve the world's access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes.
Waymo believes self-driving vehicles hold the promise to improve road safety and offer new mobility options to millions of people. Whether they’re helping people run errands, commute to work, or drop off kids at school, fully self-driving vehicles hold enormous potential to transform people’s lives.
Manual began working with Waymo in 2016 and developed their foundation for their visual language and creative strategy. Focused on trust, safety and simplicity—the identity expands across applications from livery to digital, and customer experience. Working closely with their internal team we created a robust strategy and framework for the visual and verbal identity. After establishing the principles for the identity we created an online brand portal to empower all types of partners to apply their identity in any context.
